ABOUT MMFFRESCUE
Our Mission
To rescue & rehabilitate the abused, tormented and neglected animals of North Carolina regardless of age, breed, disability or special needs. Dedicated to ending Breed Selective Legislation (BSL), prevention of animal cruelty, improving animal welfare and saving more lives through promoting our No-Kill policy.

Vision & Purpose...
To provide shelter, food, vet care and love to all in need, stray, abused, or neglected animals of our area called Next Generation Animal Advocates (N.G.A.A.) and S.A.F.E.S. (Saving Animals from Entering Shelters) help raise awareness for the animals and through them we hope to see significant positive change. We believe that exposing the desperate overpopulation to the community and by educating our youth on responsible pet practices, relationships will bring change for the animals of the future. Promoting the importance of spay & neuter practices for the pets of the community and providing resources for the families will impact future animal rights laws
What We Do...
M&M's is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt Public Charity and Non Profit Organization based out of Cameron NC. Founded in 2013 our small organization consists of several community volunteers and fosters who are the true heroes of our group. We are always in need of new volunteers and fosters who share our passion to promote animal safety and welfare. Our organizations primary purpose is to provide shelter, food, vet care and love to all in need, stray, abused, or neglected animals of our area. The pet overpopulation in NC is overwhelming! In fact, because of shelters being full thousands of innocent animals lives are lost due to lack of space. These animals make up 50% of our rescues intake while the other 50% consists of stray, found, abused and crisis animals. We do not under any circumstances condone dumping animals into a shelter because with time and patience resources or rescues like ours are available to help.
Our Community and youth programs called Next Generation Animal Advocates (N.G.A.A.) and S.A.F.E.S. (Saving Animals from Entering Shelters) help raise awareness for the animals and through them we hope to see significant positive change. We believe that exposing the desperate overpopulation to the community and by educating our youth on responsible pet practices, relationships will bring change for the animals of the future. Promoting the importance of spay & neuter practices for the pets of the community and providing resources for the families will impact future animal rights laws.

directed towards youth participants raging in ages from 8 to 20 years old. The program is offered to animal lovers, juvenile outreach, community service youth, and interested volunteers. Participants are taught pet responsibility, accountability and safety in addition to understanding and reading body language/expressions. Hands on interaction is supervised by our trainer who encourages bonding and understanding compassion for animals/humans. Youth are paired into groups and work individually throughout the time of volunteering. Overall it encourages compassion, responsibility/accountability, safety, understanding the pet crisis and how to become apart of the solution. N.G.A.A. promotes positive animal welfare and guides today's youth on how to become leaders of the future. Creativity and education is implemented over the time of the program by interacting with technology/computer programs, quizzes, essays, articles, topic browsing and networking which helps the youth feel like they have an important role in finding one of the rescued animals a forever home.

SAVING ANIMALS FROM ENTERING SHELTERS
a community based program designed to help low income and unemployed individuals and families with pets experiencing hardships. Food, resources, referrals and occasional vet care assistance is provided under the S.A.F.E.S. program (assistance approval is dependent upon program supplies and funding). Applicants can currently apply for assistance twice a year. Information provided will be verified prior to application approval. Program funding or supplies are limited to current inventory and based solely on the generous donations from the community. Assistance approval requires the applicant to agree to certain terms including their pet will not be surrendered voluntarily to a shelter if the need for assistance arises concurrently to receiving help from us which is acknowledged by the applicants signature and stored for future reference. The purpose of this program is to help out community members, animals and the shelters by simply trying to prevent unnecessary surrenders and possible euthanasia.
